LIVESTREAM | Greece’s Success in Confronting the Global Pandemic

With an economy and health care system atrophied by a decade-long crisis, a population that is the EU’s second oldest and the prevalence of intergenerational families living in close quarters, the impact of COVID-19 in Greece could have been disastrous. Yet Greece’s record on managing the pandemic has been a success story: the country has experienced among the lowest reported cases of COVID-19 and related deaths in all of Europe, and at the peak of infection used only a fraction of its hospital bed capacity.

Join the conversation to learn from those at the helm of managing the crisis how this was achieved. Speakers will address Greece’s responses to COVID-19 from the public health, domestic policy coordination, and diplomatic perspectives. The webinar will also seek to share lessons learned and contemplate the ongoing challenges as lockdowns ease.
